EXERCISE IN THE DARK

Over the last couple of years, I have worked with Melissa (see picture) who has Stargardt’s disease. This disease is the most common form of inherited juvenile macular degeneration responsible for affecting the central (reading) and colour vision. Through adversity (progressive degeneration), Melissa’s courage to show up every day and use exercise to keep her mentally and physically strong is remarkable.  Therefore on behalf of Melissa, and Retina Australia I would like to host the Do It in the Dark (aka Exercise in the Dark) event by creating an exercise setting wearing tunnel vision glasses and fundraise for a great cause to those who may be unfamiliar with inherited retinal diseases (IRD).

If you would like to join us on the 27th of April for a 30 min exercise session followed by a morning tea please contact me HERE and further details will be provided.

Additionally, a fundraising page via Just Giving has been set up with a goal to raise funds for life-changing medical research programs which will lead to the treatment and cures of IRDs.
